Description This article describes how to make a migration from the ForitVoice-VM platform to another one (for example Nutanix VM).
Scope FortiVoice v7.0.5 build 232 version.
Solution

The FortiVoice versions (7.0.5) only support below VM platforms:

  • FVE-VM (VMware vSphere Hypervisor ESX/ESXi 5.0 and higher).
  • FVE-VM (Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016).
  • FVE-VM (KVM qemu 0.12.1 and later).
  • FVE-VM (Citrix XenServer v5.6sp2, 6.0 and higher, Open source XenServer 7.4 and higher).
  • FVE-VM [AWS (BYOL)].
  • FVE-VM [Azure (BYOL)].
  • FVE-VM [Google Cloud Platform (BYOL)].

As a general recommendation to make migration done:

  1. Deploy a Nutanix VM according to the document referred to as an example: Deploying the FortiVoice VM on Nutanix. Different VM platforms have different deployment guides.
  2. Export the configuration backup from the current FortiVoice VM.
  3. Import the config exported in step 2 to the Nutanix VM deployed.
  4. Verify the functionality on the new FortiVocie VM (Example: Nutanix VM).

Important:
The approach above only migrates the config over. The data including call recording, CDR, Voicemail, etc are not migrated.
