Description This article describes upgrading FortiSwitch-648F from factory image v7.2.4_build5166 to 7.4.x or 7.2.x from FSW or FGT(Managed FSW) GUI fails.
Scope FortiSwitch 648F, and FortiSwitch 648FPOE running the factory image.
Solution

The issue is seen while upgrading from FSW GUI OR FGT GUI (Managed FSW) due to an incorrect header check, as a workaround use FortiSwitch CLI to upgrade the unit.

Note that the issue is seen only when upgrading from the factory image v7.2.4_build5166 to any GA version.

 

FortiSwitch 7.4.3 - Firmware

 

Serial Console to the FS-648F will report the following:

 

Firmware upgrade in progress (alternate)

Writing the disk......... inflate failed! (incorrect header check)

Writing the disk......... inflate failed! (incorrect header check) Done(-1).

 

Logs from the FS-648F-FPOE will report the following:

 

S648F # execute log display
135 logs found.
10 logs returned.
