Technical Tip: FortiSwitch-524D and FortiSwitch-548D cannot boot

Description	This article describes that when booting a FortiSwitch-524D or  aFortiSwitch-548D it would not boot. Instead, they would show an issue as the one below: FortiSwitch-548D (22:34-10.21.2015) BIOS version : 04000006 Serial number: S548DXXXXXXXXXXX prefetch abort pc : [<e13fde18>] lr : [<dff3dd10>] sp : dfef8f38 ip : 00000100 fp : 00000000 r10: 1c06b5f8 r9 : c3f3c000 r8 : dfefaf68 r7 : 00000002 r6 : dff3c000 r5 : ffffffff r4 : 00000000 r3 : 00000001 r2 : 00001000 r1 : 19021000 r0 : 00000200 Flags: nZCv IRQs off FIQs off Mode SVC_32 Resetting CPU ... Over and over again.
Scope	FortiSwitch 524D or FortiSwitch-548D.
Solution	This is a known hardware issue. Make sure the FortiSwitch has an active license and reach out to Fortinet TAC support for an RMA.
