Description

 

This article describes information required to expedite Technical RMA approval.

 

Scope

 

FortiSwitch.

 

Solution

 

The RMA team will redirect a ticket to the TAC team for further investigation if the ticket has not enough information or proof that the device behavior is due to physical damage. 

 

Provide the following diagnose outputs from the affected device where the problem occurs (via SSH or Serial Port - port speed 115200):

 

get sys status

diagnose ip address list

diagnose sys ntp status

diagnose hardware certificate

diagnose sys top 2

diag debug crashlog read

diagnose switch physical-ports summary

diag debug report

 

If the problem is with POE, try to disconnect the equipment from the power supply and disconnect all ports for 30 minutes to discharge it from static, and try to also add the output of the following commands from the CLI of the switch with PoE problems.

 

get switch poe inline

get hardware status

get system status

diagnosis switch poe status port1

 

Use PuTTY to generate a text file with required outputs, and attach all requested outputs from this article when submitting an RMA request.
