Description This article describes the go-to action on the issue where FortiSwitches series 100 does not appear on the Managed FortiSwitches view on FortiGate.
Scope

FortiGate FortiOS 7.4.1 or 7.2.6.

FortiSwitchOS 7.4.0 or 7.4.1.

Solution

Only some of the FortiSwitches on the existing environment appear connected on the GUI, however, when checking the status of them all, they all are Authorized/Up. They can also be managed and there are no issues with the config synchronization. The only issue is that they are not drawn correctly on the GUI nor the topology with commands below:

FG # execute switch-controller get-physical-conn standard <fortilink interface na

FG # execute switch-controller get-physical-conn dot <fortilink interface name>

Some FSWs connected and some others notSome FSWs connected and some others not

All FSWs Authorized/Up and with no config sync issuesAll FSWs Authorized/Up and with no config sync issues

Try to restart the ACD daemon on FortiGate:

FG # diagnose switch-controller restart-daemon acd

This command will not have any impact on the operation of the switches.

Open a new ticket to the TAC and refer to this KB. Ensure to send the following information:

From FortiGate:

execute switch-controller get-conn-status
exec switch-controller get-sync-status all
execute switch-controller diagnose-connection <FSW SN>
execute switch-controller get-physical-conn standard <fortilink interface name>
execute switch-controller get-physical-conn dot <fortilink interface name>

From an SSH or console connection to the FortiSwitch:

get sys stat

diagnose sys ntp status

exec time

execute switch-controller get-conn-status
