Description

This article describes steps to fix an issue where RAID on FortiSandbox is degraded and unconfigured.

Scope All FortiSandbox hardware models.
Solution

Occasionally, the RAID status on FortiSandbox hardware shows as degraded and unconfigured. This means it cannot be used in most operations.

An example of degraded and unconfigured RAID:

# status

RAID info

        RAID level:           RAID-1

        RAID status:          Degraded

        Virtual drive size:   1861 GB

        Total physical disks: 2

        Physical disk states:

                Slot:                 0

                Status:               Unconfigured

                Size:                 1862 GB

                Slot:                 1

                Status:               OK

                Size:                 1862 GB

To fix the issue:

1) Try to reboot to see if RAID rebuilds automatically.

2) Reset the drive by taking it out and putting it back in (hot swapping) or replacing it with a new hard drive.

3) Perform a RAID rebuild.

If the issue is still not resolved, contact the Fortinet TAC team.
