Description This article describes how to resolve issues related to VM Clones on FortiSandbox with AMD CPU.
Scope FortiSandbox v4.2.
Solution

For the latest versions (Version 4.2.0 & above) the minimum requirement for AMD Processors is ESXi v6.7 and above.

In most cases, there are no issues although there are some exceptions and even on v7.0 ESXi issues are being observed, such as VM Initialization Issues, VM Activation Issues, VM Scan Issues, etc.

These Issues can be resolved by modifying the Following Parameters of the FortiSandbox on the ESXi:

Step 1: Shutdown safely the FortiSandbox VM.

Step 2: Change the Operating System from 'ESXi 5.0' to 'Other Linux(64-bit)'.

This can be done by Finding the FortiSandbox Instance –> Edit Settings –> VM Options –> Guest OS Version –> Choose 'Other Linux(64-bit)'.

Step 3: Change the Hardware Version to the Latest Version '19'.

This can be done by Finding the FortiSandbox Instance –> Compatibility –> Upgrade VM Compatibility –> Choose Hardware Version the Latest Available Version '19' (ESXi 7.0U2/U3 and later).

Note: if it is already done then the option will not be available like in the pictures below.
