Description

This article describes how to verify whether the registered Windows 10 license key is correct when the Windows 10 VM fails to activate.

Scope FortiSandbox.
Solution

Issue:

  • Impossible to activate the Windows 10 VM in the FortiSandbox.
  • Tried to activate different types of Windows 10 VMs in the FortiSandbox, but still failed.
  • From the CLI output of the 'diagnose-debug vminit', it shows 'No Key to activate the Win10', but the Win10 License is purchased and registered to the FortiSandbox.

Solution:

  • Check the Win10 license key on the Microsoft License Card whether it matches the registered Win10 license key in the FortiSandbox.

  • Run the CLI 'vm-license -l' to check the registered Windows 10 license key in the FortiSandbox. The last 5 characters are masked. Open a support ticket to get the last 5 characters for verification.

  • If the Windows 10 license key on the Microsoft License Card does not match the registered Windows 10 license key in the FortiSandbox, open a support ticket to get further assistance and share this with the TAC support.
