Description

This article describes how to correct the Win10 Key in the FortiSandbox.

Scope

FortiSandbox.

Solution
  1. If the Windows VM such as Win10 fails to activate even though the FortiSandbox has the correct Win10 key, check the Microsoft License card that should be shipped together with the FortiSandbox hardware devices like below.

  2. If cannot find the Microsoft license card, contact technical support so they will help to get the completed Win10 product key.

  1. After the technical support team has provided the completed Win10 product key, put all the dynamic VM licenses into a text file and name it 'key.txt'. From the below screenshot, the Win10 key has been corrected in the text file 'key.txt'.

Note: It is necessary to put all the completed product keys for all the VMs like Win7, Win10, Office 2016, etc in the FortiSandbox.

  1. Upload the 'key.txt' to the SCP server which is accessible by the FortiSandbox.

  2. On the FortiSandbox, run the CLI command below:

    vm-license -b -tscp -ssvr_ip -uusername -fpath/key.txt

  3. Run the CLI command 'vm-license -l' to verify whether the product key is updated correctly.

  4. If yes, try to activate the Win10 and it should be working.
