Scope
FortiSOAR v7.x.
Solution
Step 1: Check the current state of the VM configuration in the FortiSOAR instance.
# ls -la /home/csadmin | grep -i "vm_config"
-rw-r-----. 1 root root 0 Jan 3 2022 .vm_configuration_failed
Step 2: Reconfigure the 'vm_configs' on the FortiSOAR instance. The following seventeen tasks will be carried out as part of this reconfiguration:
- Change hostname and refresh MQ nodename [Optional].
- Get DNS.
- Update network configuration [Optional].
- Set up intra-services authentication (enable messaging environment).
- Generate Certificates.
- Generate Device UUID.
- Reset database passwords.
- Restart FortiSOAR Services.
- Configure default single-node HA cluster.
- Configure proxy.
- Install Python Libraries.
- Sync with marketplace metadata.
- Install default widgets.
- Search Index initialization.
- Refresh SSH Keys.
- Generate default encryption keys.
- Refresh data identifiers.
Note:
Schedule an appropriate downtime, as this process involves restarting FortiSOAR services.
Step 3: Execute this command from the FortiSOAR CLI:
# sudo bash /opt/cyops/scripts/config-vm.sh
Step 4: Enter the necessary information whenever prompted in the configuration wizard. This process typically takes about 15-20 minutes. Once completed, log in to the FortiSOAR CLI from a new session, and the error message will no longer appear.
