Description This article describes how to reset the user password for CLI from rescue mode in case of user forgets the password and is unable to access the CLI of FortiSOAR.
Scope
Solution

The single-user mode option is not available to reset the password hence recommend to use Centos image to load maintenance mode.

These steps are specific for Vmware, settings can vary for different hardware.

Strongly recommend taking a snapshot of the VM before performing the below steps.

1) Shutdown the VM -> Edit settings -> Connect Centos image.

2) Enable the option to load BIOS in the next boot.

3) Enable the option Load with CDROM -> Save the setting and exit.

4) Then follow the rescue steps and select 1 to continue.

5) Run the command #chroot /mnt/sysimage

6) Run the command #passwd csadmin (This will reset the password)

7) Run the command #touch /.autorelabel
8) Rebooted the VM #reboot -f

Now, it is possible to log in with the new Password.
