Description This article describes how to resolve a Failed to Read License File error.
Scope FortiSIEM.
Solution

A .lic file was provided for checking in the lab. After obtaining the file, the following command was run:

 

GB License.png

 

As shown, there are no 'Devices' or 'Total EPS' columns in the license file, which are typically included upon running the following command:

EPS license.png

This suggests that the license provided is either a GB/day license, or the customer intends to switch from an EPS-based license to a GB/day license.


Note that if the customer is using a version of FortiSIEM below 7.2.2, this issue may occur. To resolve it, the customer needs to upgrade to version 7.2.2 or higher before applying the GB/day license, as GB/day licenses are supported only in version 7.2.2 and later. Prior to this version, only EPS-based licenses are supported.
