Description This article describes how to fix a FortiSIEM Manager license upload issue where the message is 'Error happened: The license type does not match'.
Scope FortiSIEM v7.x.
Solution

The error message occurs when trying to upload a FortiSIEM license to the wrong node type (Supervisor or FortiSIEM Manager) or when the hardware ID is incorrect.

Ensure the FortiSIEM Type is correct - Supervisor or FortiSIEM Manger. This can be verified by running the command:

#phshowVersion.sh

Verify the hardware ID is the same as updated in the support portal.:

#cat /sys/class/dmi/id/product_uuid

Log in to Fortinet Support and verify the hardware ID in product details.

To rectify Hardware ID:

Visit Fortinet Support -> Asset Management -> FSM -> License -> Edit -> Update the new hardware ID -> Download the license >- Upload to FortiSIEM or FortiSIEM Manager GUI.

If the issue persists then contact Fortinet Support with the below details:

  • Output of commands:

#cat /sys/class/dmi/id/product_uuid

#phshowVersion.sh

  • Log file /usr/local/fresh-install/logs/ansible.log
