Technical Tip: Report generated with CSV Format will be compressed with .gz

Description	This article describes the default behaviour when exporting a report with the CSV output format.
Scope	FortiSIEM
Solution	In summary, when exporting a report manually or set with a schedule report in CSV output format, the generated CSV file will be compressed as a .gz file. This is because the CSV format may contain a large amount of return data, which may result in a huge file size that can cause performance bottle-necking. Compressing the file reduces this impact. Export a report manually. Navigate to the GUI -> Analytics -> Actions -> Export Result -> Output Format: Select 'CSV' -> Generate.  The end result will be a .gz file. For example, report1694014113477.csv.gz. Schedule a Report. Navigate to the GUI -> Resources -> Reports -> More -> Schedule -> Next -> Output Format: Select 'CSV' -> OK.
