Can't Login with local user after upgrade

Hello,

After upgrading to version 7.3.2, we received an error when we tried to log in with the local user. When we logged in with admin and checked the users, we realised that they were seen as fortiauth. Has anyone encountered this situation, how can we solve it?

Thanks in advance

Hi @adem_netsys,

Can you provide some more context - or: is the following assumption correct?

  • You were on 7.2.x, then upgraded to 7.3.2
  • We are talking about the super organization or a global scope, not a tenant
  • There were some users that were defined as FortiSIEM-users (meaning admins), but with a local account and password
  • You also configured FortiAuthenticator (RADIUS?) for some other users, but these were different user names
  • After upgrading, all the local users also switched to the FortiAuthenticator-authentication, instead being authenticated locally
  • This was (fortunately) not the case for the user "admin"

If this is the case, then it's likely a bug and should be reported to the TAC. They will probably write a script to re-structure the users.

I have not seen this behavior before, though.

Best,

Christian

Hi @Secusaurus

Yes, We've upgraded 7.2.4 to 7.3.2 version. We have a tenant structure, but the users we create here are connected to the global locally. We did not have a problem with the admin user, as I said, there are locally created users. We did not do Radius authentication, but we could not understand how he got it this way.
