Description This article describes how to identify what POP connecting by nslookup
Scope FortiSASE.
Solution

Identifying the POP location first requires obtaining the domain name of the FortiSASE 

Here are the steps to obtain a domain name:

  1. Login to FortiSASE.
  2. Select Configuration -> VPN User SSO.
  3. Copy the base URL: For example, it will start with .turbo-xxx' 
  4. Open a Windows command prompt and try to ping the base URL or nslookup. This will resolve the nearest POP IP, and select 'speed.fortisase.com'.
  5. Verify if the IP range it resolves lies under the same location. 

 

For example:
 

nslookup turbo-hqdhrrih.edge.prod.fortisase.com 8.8.8.8
Server: dns.google
Address: 8.8.8.8

 

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: sslgateway-fos001-region12.prod.fortisase.com
Address: 154.52.20.100  <- Resolved IP
