This article describes how to add file extension types that are not on the list for the DLP (Data Loss Prevention) Profile.

Scope

FortiSASE.

Solution

1. On the FortiSASE portal, go to Configuration/Security.
2. On the top right, under Profile Group, create a New Entry and select it. Or, select the default one.
3. Enable Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and click on Customize.
4. Create New and give a Name, 'double click' on the existing DLP Rule.
5. Under File Type, select Specify and edit 'builtin-patterns'.
6. Select Create and for Pattern add *.docx and let Filter Type be Pattern. Select OK.
7. Do the same for other entries like .xlsx or any other file extensions.
