Description

 

This article describes how to allow Google Drive Desktop to sync files when connected to FortiSASE Secure Internet Access (Agent-based).

Solution

 

A common example of the configuration for SIA users on FortiSASE.

 

SSL Inspection:

Configuration -> Security -> Select Profile Group -> Configure SSL.

Policy:

Configuration -> Policies -> Create / Edit.

Perform the following steps below to allow Google Drive Desktop to sync the file:

 

  1. Configuration -> Security -> Select Profile Group -> Configure SSL -> Exemptions  -> Hosts -> + -> + -> Create -> IPv4 Host.

  1. Enter the field below and select OK.

    Name: wildcard.google.com.

    Type: FQDN.

    FQDN: *.googleapis.com.

  2. Configuration -> Security -> Select Profile Group -> Configure SSL -> Exemptions -> Hosts -> + -> Select wildcard.googleapis.com and wildcard.google.com -> Click OK.

  3. Restart Google Drive. Select Quit.

  4. Re-open Google Drive and file.
