Description This article describes how to troubleshoot the Chromecast issue with FortiRecorder.
Scope FortiRecorder.
Solution

Below are some steps to follow to troubleshoot the issue with Chromecast for FortiRecorder.

  1. FortiRecorder must have a public port reachable from the internet for the Chromecast to fetch and stream videos from FortiRecorder with a valid public certificate. The video is streamed over HTTPS, as required by the Chromecast device. And that HTTPS connection is verified using the public internet infrastructure.
  2. The Chromecast needs to be reachable from the FortiRecorder private network port to discover the device.
  3. Run debug command as per below and provide to TAC Support for investigation
  • Access to FortiRecorder CLI and run the below command:

 

diagnose debug application castd 1

diagnose debug enable       

 

  • Go to Service -> Chromecast -> Device, disable and enable the device. Send any output from the CLI.
  • If there is no output, the issue is the Chromecast daemon. Reach out to TAC Support for further investigation.
