This article describes how to replace the HDD in a FortiProxy equipped with LSI MegaRAID SAS RAID Controller.
Scope
FortiProxy hardware appliance equipped with LSI MegaRAID SAS RAID Controller.
Solution
Requirements:
Monitor, keyboard.
Console cable.
Process of replacing the disk:
Plug a monitor and a keyboard into FortiProxy.
Reboot FortiProxy.
During the boot-up process, when this message 'Press <Ctrl><R> to Run MegaRAID Configuration Utility' appears, press the 'Ctrl + R' keys simultaneously to enter the configuration utility.
Once in the MegaRAID Configuration Utility, navigate to the 'Create Virtual Drive' option.
Create a Virtual Drive in RAID 0 for the new disk.
After creating the new virtual drive, the system will detect the Virtual Drive with a message similar to: '4 Virtual Drive(s) found on the host adapter.'.
The disk will begin to format automatically.
