Description This article explains how to avoid connection not secure warning pop up during connecting to the FortiPAM GUI via Firefox browser.

Solution

Here is step by step how to avoid this warning:

This warning means the FortiPAM system is missing the FortiPAM GUI certificate signed by the FortiPAM CA certificate.

 

It is needed to create or generate a new certificate in the FortiPAM GUI, like this:

Follow the instructions, download, and install the Fortinet_CA_SSL CA certificate on each client machine.

 

Other details of the certificate are located in the Local Certificate:

Download and install both of the certificates shown in the photo above. The left certificate is the certificate that was generated in the steps before; the right is the Issuer (Fortinet_CA_SSL, located in: Local CA Certificate).

Install them and locate them in: Local Machine -> Certificate Store -> Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

 

The last step, which has to be done in FortiPAM GUI, is to add the correct new certificate to the interface, check the SSL certificate section:

The last step is to add the Fortinet_CA_SSL to the Certificate settings in Firefox:

Check the connection; it should look like this: the connection is secure.
