Description

The article describes the expected behavior of a subscription license expiration notification for different kinds of SKUs.

Scope

FortiPAM.

Solution

For example, FortiPAM is registered with FC1-10-PAVUL-591-02-DD, which refers to the following:

  • Subscription for one FortiPAM Virtual Machine seat for between 5 to 9 users.
  • Includes FortiClient VRS agent for FortiPAM.
  • Includes Advanced Malware Protection.
  • Includes FortiCare Premium support.

In case the user seats need to be increased by more than 9 users and also the license is going to expire soon, a new license can be registered accordingly.

In this example, A FC2-10-PAVUL-591-02-DD is registered, and it includes the following:

  • Subscription for one FortiPAM Virtual Machine seat for between 10 to 24 users.
  • Includes FortiClient VRS agent for FortiPAM.
  • Includes Advanced Malware Protection.
  • Includes FortiCare Premium support.

However, if the prior license (FC1-10-PAVUL-591-02-DD) is going to expire soon, for example, in 20 days, even though the other license

(FC2-10-PAVUL-591-02-DD) has already been registered before the expiry date, FortiPAM can show a notification that the FortiPAM license is about to expire in 20 days as the following:

Note that this is expected behavior and it will not raise any issues. As soon as the current user seat license expires, the new one will be applied automatically from the expiry date.
