This article discusses the behavior where a wireless adapter record or host record continues to display as 'online' after disconnecting from the wireless network.

For wired hosts, see related article:

Scope FortiNAC v8.x and greater.

1) Review the MAC Address table of the Controller/Access Point listed as the host's location.

Confirm the Controller/Access Point does not list the MAC Address. FortiNAC will continue to show the host as online until its MAC Address is removed from the table.

2) If the MAC Address table is correct (and does not list the address), verify whether or not the status updates after performing a L2 poll.

- Select the Polling tab for the switch's device model.
- Under L2 (Hosts) Polling, 'Last Successful Poll' and 'Last Attempted Poll' dates and times should be identical. If not, refer to the related article:

3) If the status updates to 'offline' when L2 polling is performed, then the delayed update may be expected. Review the appropriate vendor integration reference manual in the FortiNAC Document Library to confirm.
