Description This article describes the behavior where when isolated, Android shows 'ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED' and references an old portal FQDN.
Scope Versions 8.x and 9.x.
Solution

1) Review the Web service definitions as defined in the Captive Portal assistant reference manual:
https://fortinetweb.s3.amazonaws.com/docs.fortinet.com/v2/attachments/b0560ae0-08a9-11eb-96b9-005056...

Ensure the Samsung Android Requested URI is referencing the correct FQDN:

Example:

Requested URI
.gen._204.*
Forward to URL
http://fortinac.oldportalname.local   <----- Old portal FQDN.

The Portal name is located in the Portal SSL view in the GUI.

2) If there is an old entry, delete the entry and re-add with the updated portal SSL name:

Example:

Requested URI
.gen._204.*
Forward to URL
http://fortinac.bellcounty.texas.gov  <----- Current portal FQDN.
