Description
This article describes how to reset Portal settings should elements of the portal become unresponsive or do not show properly.

Sometimes issues occur where the captive portal page does not produce the login fields, the login field do not allow input, or the page is simply blank.
This could be due to HTML coding issues, settings problems or other unidentified problems.

Solution
The Portal configuration is located in the following locations:

In 9.x: Portal -> Portal Configuration.
In 8.x: System - > Portal Configuration.

1) Choose the portal configuration to reset at the bottom of the window.

2) Select 'Reset to Defaults'.
- This will clear out any customization of the portal such as changed field titles, default test, and images.

3) (Optional) Restart tomcat-portal service from CLI:

# service tomcat-portal restart

Note.
Test the portal with the default configuration first before adding customizations.
It is necessary to redo the reset a couple of times for the page to come up properly.
Do the optional step should the portal still not be populating as it should.
