Description

This article describes new behavior due to changes in recent FortiNAC versions to enhance password security.

Scope FortiNAC v9.4.1, 9.2.6, 9.1.8, 7.2.0 and greater.
Solution

The following behaviors can be expected under Users & Hosts -> Guests & Contractors -> Users:

Passwords are available to the Administrator during the UI login session the password was issued.  This includes:

- View Button.

- Print.

- Print Badge.

- Export function from within the user account (View > Export).

Resulting spreadsheet content:

- The passwords will not be visible to the Administrator upon the next login.

Example:

- Once passwords are no longer visible, selecting the Print or Print Badge option within the user account will generate a new password. This makes the previous password null and void. The new password will be available to view/export/print during that UI login session.

- Admin users are unable to view the passwords that conference users have created.
