| Description |
This article discusses an issue when host records are being created with IPv6 Multicast MAC Addresses.
Example: 33:33:00:00:00:FB
The MAC Address Exclusion feature excludes addresses within the IANA IPv4 multicast range 01:00:EE:00:00:00 - 01:00:5E:7F:FF:FF.
It does not exclude addresses within the IANA IPv6 multicast range of 33-33-00-00-00-00 to 33-33-FF-FF-FF-FF.
For more information on this feature, see MAC address exclusion in the Administration Guide. |
| Scope | Version: 9.2.4 and below |
| Solution |
The ability to exclude IPv6 multicast addresses has been added in versions 9.2.5, 9.4.0, and above.
Customers with the option already enabled will need to toggle or check the 'Exclude Multicast Addresses' option in order to additionally exclude IPv6 addresses.
In Versions 9.2.5 and greater: addresses within the IANA IPv6 multicast range 33-33-00-00-00-00 to 33-33-FF-FF-FF-FF are excluded if checkbox is enabled.
Example of version 9.4.8.
