Description

This article describes how to solve an issue with Administration UI when it is unable to load due to name resolution

Scope

FortiNAC

Solution

In order for the UI page to be built, port 8443 must be bound to the eth0 IP address.  This is done using internal name resolution.  If the Hostname was configured as 'nac' then the resolution may not complete properly, and the UI page will be inaccessible.

  • Example of correct usage: IT-NAC-HQ.
  • Example of incorrect usage: NAC.

Change the appliance host name to the correct format using Configuration Wizard.  For instructions refer to the Configuration Wizard reference manual in the Document Library.

Additionally, update the following:
  • Production DNS records
  • Persistent Agent Settings distributed to end stations specifying the hostname for agent communication (HomeServer, Allowed Servers).
