Technical Tip: FortiMonitor certificate reauthorization in FortiOS

Description

This article describes the steps needed to reauthorize Fabric connections via the Fabric CSF tunnel in FortiOS in order to continue monitoring Fabric devices.

Note: This does not affect OnSight-based integrations.

Solution

Reauthorization steps

To reauthorize the FortiMonitor certificate in FortiOS, perform the following steps:

  1. From the FortiGate UI, two entries for FortiMonitor will be available. Select the highlighted FORTIMONITORUS01. This is the new static connection that will be used moving forward.
  2. Select the highlighted device (FORTIMONITORUS01), then select Authorize.

  1. Remove the inactive connection using the Deauthorize option.
    Note: To avoid potential issues, do not use the Deny option.
