Description This article describes how to troubleshoot when the VMware OVF template is stuck on 'Validating…' page.
Scope FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer.
VMware vSphere.
Solution

Getting into the 'Validating…' page:

  1. Log in to vSphere Client -> Deploy OVF Template -> Upload OVF template.
  2. After the 'Select a name and folder' and “'elect a compute resource' steps, vSphere will proceed to validate the uploaded OVF file.
  3. At this steps, vSphere will be stuck at 'Validating' as shown below:

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify if FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer image file can be deployed directly from the standalone VMware ESXi server.
  2. If it is possible to deploy from VMware ESXi,access vSphere client via configured FQDN instead of the IP Address
  3. Most of the case happens when accessing the vSphere client using IP Address, vSphere is unable to validate the OVF file successfully and stuck for hours.
