Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot when the option to upgrade ADOM in FortiManager is greyed out.

Scope

FortiManager.

Solution

This occurs when FortiManager is upgraded without following the recommended upgrade path. In this scenario, FortiManager is upgraded from v6.0.0 to v7.2.10.

After directly upgrading FortiManager to v7.2.10, the error 'ADOM of v6.0' is no longer supported, and the 'Select ADOM Page' becomes visible.

The Option to upgrade the ADOM root is greyed out.

Check that no devices/policies are registered under the ADOM and user login as Admin/Super_User and perform ADOM reset as below via FortiManager CLI Console:

execute reset adom-settings <ADOM ID> <Version> <Major Release> <OS_Type>

Note:

Performing an ADOM reset will erase all devices and content within the ADOM.

Example:

execute reset adom-settings root 7 2

Or:

execute reset adom-settings 3 7 2

Where:

  • 3 is ADOM 'root' ID.
  • 7 is Firmware version 7.
  • 2 isthe  MR version 2.

Ensure the ADOM version is supported by the current FortiManager version. Once the command has been executed, the option to upgrade the ADOM will be available (right-click the ADOM and choose upgrade).
