Solution |
Usually, this problem occurs when the FortiOS version of the FortiGate and the software version of FortiManager are incompatible.
To fix the problem:
FortiOS v7.2.5 of the FortiGate is compatible only with FortiManager v7.2.3 and v7.4.0. If FortiGate is running FortiOS v7.2.5 and the FortiManager is running on v7.2.2, the FortiManager will show the 'Connection down' error for that FortiGate. To fix it, either downgrade the FortiOS version of the FortiGate to 7v.2.4 or upgrade the FortiManager to v7.2.3 or v7.4.0. |
