Description This article describes how to troubleshoot FortiManager system template errors.
Scope FortiManager.
Solution

Consider the following scenario:

  1. In FortiManager, create a System Template and assign it to a FortiGate.

  1. Using PuTTY SSH, access FortiManager and run the following CLI commands:

 

diagnose debug disable
diagnose debug reset
diagnose debug application securityconsole 255
diagnose debug enable

  1. In FortiManager, performing a System Template installation does not show the error from the install preview.

  1. PuTTY shows the debug log with the error information:

  1. In FortiManager, go back to System Template to check the incorrect interface and change it back to the correct interface.

  1. In FortiManager, perform the installation again. This time, the install preview will show the information that will be pushed to FortiGate.
