Description

This article describes FortiManager behavior in downloading analytics logs when adding FortiAnalyzer and comparing when enabling the FortiAnalyzer feature

Scope

FortiManager.

Solution

FortiManager has an option to enable the FortiAnalyzer feature or manage a FortiAnalyzer.

Before enabling the features or adding FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager will not show the following pages: FortiView, Log View, Incidents & Events, and Reports.

After enabling the feature or adding FortiAnalyzer, the pages will be available from FortiManager.

When the features are enabled, the FortiManager dashboard will also contain the same graphical information that can be found in FortiAnalyzer

When getting the analytics logs from Log View, FortiManager, which manages FortiAnalyzer, does not have the option to download. This is the expected behavior of the system:

On the other hand, with FortiManager with FortiAnalyzer features enabled, the option to download is visible, and FortiManager can download the analytics logs:

Note:

The difference in page navigation layout is due to a difference in ADOM type and not part of a different behavior of enabling the features or adding FortiAnalyzer.

  • FortiManager, adding FortiAnalyzer, is using the ADOM type Fabric.
  • FortiManager with FortiAnalyzer features enabled, is using the ADOM type FortiGate.
