Technical Tip: Security update status widget in device manager for a managed device shows N/A

Description	This article describes why, for a managed device, the 'Security Update Status' widget in FortiManager Device Manager shows 'N/A'.
Scope	FortiManager, FortiGate.
Solution	The Security Update Status widget by default is not enabled and can be enabled from Device Manager -> Device & Groups -> Select a Device -> Dashboard: Summary -> Select Add Widget -> Select the '+' icon besides the 'Security Update Status' to add the widget. The current logic for showing the Security Update Status: FortiGate needs to use FortiManager as FortiGuard Server (FDS). Only if there is any object update, the FortiManager GUI will get the info to show it on the widget. If FortiGate never updates from FortiManager (incase all DBs are already up to date), then the widget will not have any update objects version and shows 'N/A'.
