Description This article describes how to resolve HA Configuration Error During FortiGate Synchronization.
Scope FortiManager, FortiGate .
Solution

The error message indicates that the synchronization process failed due to an out-of-range value for the HA priority setting on the FortiGate. The solution involves upgrading the FortiManager ADOM (Administrative Domain) version to ensure compatibility with the FortiGate.

  1. Check Version Compatibility: Verify the versions of FortiManager and FortiGate. In this case, the FortiManager was running version 6.0, and the FortiGate was on version 6.4.
  2. Understand Version Compatibility: FortiManager ADOM can support multiple FortiGate versions. However, it is crucial to ensure compatibility between the FortiManager and FortiGate versions for seamless synchronization.
  3. Upgrade FortiManager ADOM: To resolve the synchronization issue, upgrade FortiManager ADOM to version 6.4 or a version compatible with FortiGate. This will ensure that the configuration settings align with the FortiGate's requirements. FortiManager ADOM can support N+1 version. Where N is the version of FortiGate.
  4. Retry Synchronization:  After upgrading the FortiManager ADOM, retry the synchronization process between the FortiManager and FortiGate.

Synchronization errors during the configuration of FortiManager and FortiGate can sometimes be attributed to version compatibility issues. In the case of the error message 'error :-999 - out of range - prop[ha-priority]: value 1000 out of range (1,50)', it was resolved by upgrading the FortiManager ADOM to version 6.4.

Ensuring version compatibility between FortiManager and FortiGate is essential for a successful synchronization process.
