Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot FortiGuard Service disk usage-related error in FortiManager.

Scope FortiManager.
Solution
  1. The user may come across FortiGuard Service disk usage-related error messages, FortiGuard Service: Disk usage has exceeded disk quota!' in the FortiManager Alert Console as below.

  1. This scenario is common when FortiManager is used to provide FortiGuard service updates to FortiGate, such as web-filter and IPS updates.

 

Below is a sample CLI output that shows the list of FortiGuard services enabled and the total storage utilization for the services.

 

get fmupdate service

avips : enable

query-webfilter : enable

 

Total space utilized by both is 66.3 GB

diagnose fmupdate check-disk-quota all

The size of all directories is: 98.01G Bytes

 

diagnose fmupdate check-disk-quota fds

The size of fds directories is: 42.23G Bytes    <----- Space utilized by the IPS database.

 

diagnose fmupdate check-disk-quota fgd

The size of fgd directories is: 55.78G Bytes   <----- Space utilized by web-filter database.

 

  1. As a workaround, the FortiGuard services disk quota can be extended from the default size (51200MB) via below CLI command.

 

config fmupdate disk-quota

    set value 100000

end
