Description This article describes how to reset the 'Install On' policy option to default on FortiManager.
Scope FortiManager.
Solution

On FortiManager, a policy package can be deployed on multiple targets.

There is also the option of installing only some of the policies on some dedicated targets rather than all defined targets under Installation Targets.

Once the installation target has been changed to a specific target then the Installation Targets icon disappears from the Install On policy section being replaced by the name of the firewall for the policy to be installed on.

When the Install On section of the policy needs to be reset to the default value of all targets this has to be done by 'right-clicking' on the Install On section in the policy and choosing the Set Install On To Default option.

Note:

Using the Edit Install On option by selecting the 'pencil' icon in the Install On policy tab and deselecting all the targets will not reset the value back to default where the policy will be installed on all targets. The Install On tab will remain blank and when the policy package is pushed, the policies without a target will be removed/deleted from all the targets defined under Installation Targets.
