This article describes how to reset the FortiManager admin password.

Solution

It is possible to reset the admin password using the CLI. Enter the following CLI commands:

conf system admin user
    edit admin
        set password <password>
end

To unset the admin password:

conf system admin user
    edit admin
        unset password
end

If the admin password has been lost and cannot log in to the FortiManager web-based manager or CLI, contact Technical Support.
