Description

This article describes how to configure Captive Portal in FortiManager ADOM 7.4 onwards

Scope

FortiManager v7.4, v7.6.

Solution

Any syntax changes in the FortiGate Major/Minor versions, FortiManager in the same Major/Minor version, will follow the new syntax. Captive Portal is an example of syntax changes.

 

Below is the syntax to configure Captive Portal in FortiGate/FortiManager ADOM v7.2.

 

  1. Under FortiGate v7.2 -> Wireless Controller -> SSIDs -> Create New -> SSID -> Security Mode Settings -> Security Mode.

  1. Under FortiManager ADOM v7.2 -> AP Manager -> SSIDs -> Create New -> SSID -> Security Mode Settings > Security Mode.

The Captive Portal can be directly chosen as a dropdown option of Security Mode. Below is the syntax to configure Captive Portal in FortiGate/FortiManager ADOM v7.4.

 

  1. Under FortiGate v7.4 -> Wireless Controller -> SSIDs -> Create New -> SSID -> Security Mode Settings.

Captive Portal can now be enabled directly, and the Security mode 'Open' option will be available after enabled.

 

  1. under FortiManager ADOM 7.4 -> AP Manager -> SSIDs -> Create New- > SSID -> Security Mode Settings > Security Mode.

In FortiManager, Security Mode can be 'Open' directly before enabling the Captive Portal.
