Description

This article describes why the 'execute sensor <detail | list>' command is not available for certain FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer models. This command can be used to monitor the sensor readings.

Scope FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer.
Solution
  1. The Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) sensor is used to monitor the device statuses (i.e. Voltage, Temperature, Fans RPM, power supplies, etc). However, only certain FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer models that come with IPMI support are capable of retrieving that information, which is displayed under the 'execute sensor <detail | list>' CLI command.

  2. Here is the list of FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer models that have IPMI support:
  • FortiManager -300E.
  • FortiManager -400E.
  • FortiManager -1000F.
  • FortiManager -2000E.
