Description This article describes the best use of FortiManager Policy Package Naming.
Scope FortiManager.
Solution

1) It is better to use policy package names with characters, numbers, dash '-', and/or underscore '_'.

2) Avoid using other special characters in the Policy Package name.

3) Special characters such as backslash '\' or forward slash '/' might cause inconsistency result in policy package page.

 

Example1:

The policy is not shown in FortiManager v7.0.7.

Reason: FortiManager v7.0.7 Policy Package name contains backslash '\'.

Example2:

The view-mode option is not available in FortiManager v7.2.2.

Reason: FortiManager v7.2.2 Policy Package name contains backslash '\'.
