Description

This article describes the steps to export the managed devices inventory from FortiManager. The process involves navigating to the device manager, adjusting the view options, and exporting the desired data to a CSV report.

Scope FortiManager.
Solution

Step 1: Change the view mode of the managed devices list.

 

  1. Navigate to the Device Manager -> Managed FortiGate.
  2. Change the view option from Table to Folder View.

Step 2: Select the options that required in the Inventory Reports.

 

  1. The device folder names appear on the left and the list of devices along with other columns like device name, serial number, and firmware details appear under the respective columns.
  2. Select the gear icon to access the column options.
  3. Choose the list of options available based on the requirements. (In this article covered Hostname and Serial Number as shown in the below image).
  4. Export the device by selecting Export to CSV report.

Note: Devices not assigned to any custom folder will automatically appear under the 'Unassigned Devices' folder when the Folder View option is selected.

Step 3: Exporting the Report.

 

  1. While exporting, choose the desired option before selecting the OK button: Export all columns or Export customized columns only.

  2. For example, in this article, only the device name and serial number are used, so the option 'Export customized columns only' was selected.
