Technical Tip: DHCP server settings in FortiManager

Description

This article describes some information regarding the DHCP settings in the FortiManager menus.

Scope

FortiManager.

Solution

In FortiManager, the following settings can be found under:

1. Device Manager.
2. Policy & Objects.
3. FortiSwitch VLANs.
   Per device-mapping.

FortiSwitch VLAN settings are applied in order, and any subsequent configuration will override the previous one. When per-device mapping is used within a VLAN template, the device-specific values take precedence over the default FortiSwitch VLAN settings.

Device Manager:

Device Manager -> Device & Groups -> Managed FortiGate -> FortiGate_name -> Network: Interfaces | CLI configuration.

Policy & Objects:

Policy & Objects -> Advanced -> CLI configuration -> System/ DHCP/ Server.

FortiSwitch Manager:

FortiSwitch Manager -> FortiSwitch VLANs -> VLAN_name -> Default | Per-device mapping.
