Description This article describes a behavior change while configuring FortiClient EMS connector from FortiManager.
Scope FortiManager 7.0.3+.
Solution

In the previous version, when the configuration with a FortiClient EMS connector was pushed from FortiManager to the FortiGate, the FortiGates must authorize each other with the FortiClient EMS. Afterwards, the FortiGate will appear on the FortiClient EMS portal under Fabric Devices.

This behavior has been changed since FortiManager 7.0.3.

When a FortiClient EMS connector is configured from FortiManager, once the FortiClient EMS connector is authenticated, the FortiManager will automatically register the relevant FortiGate to the FortiClient EMS. It is therefore unnecessary to authorize the FortiClient EMS from FortiGate.

Along with the configuration being pushed to the FortiGate, the status will be shown as connected under Security Fabric -> Fabric Connectors -> FortiClient EMS.

Consequently, a new category 'FortiManager managed devices' is displayed from the FortiClient EMS portal.

This applies to FortiClient EMS Cloud as well. However, FortiManager must connect to the FortiClient EMS Cloud that is registered to the same FortiCloud account.
