This article describes how to resolve the error 'Invalid license presented', may be displayed under license information after uploading the license file.
This error will be seen when the number of CPU cores allocated to the VM is greater than the number that is allowed on the purchased VM license.
Scope
FortiMail v5.3 and above.
Solution
To resolve this error, reduce the number of CPU’s allocated to the VM.
Run the 'get system status' command from the FortiMail console, which will show output lines similar to the following:
VM Registration: Allowed CPU has been exceeded
VM License File: Subscription License
VM Resources: 2 CPU/1 allowed,
In the above example, lower the vCPU allocated for this FortiMail VM to '1', as the license purchased allows 1 vCPU.
