Description | This article describes that the 'Too many failed login attempts' error notification will not pop up after failed login attempts multiple times. |
Scope | FortiMail. |
Solution |
For example, FortiMail is already configured with these settings:
set admin-lockout-threshold 5 set admin-lockout-duration 10
When more than 5 attempts to log in failed, FortiMail did not show the 'Too many failed login attempts' error notification in GUI. This is expected behavior if the Authentication Reputation is set to 'Enable' at Security -> Authentication Reputation -> Setting.
If the Authentication Reputation setting is set to 'Disable' or 'Monitor only', the 'Too many failed login attempts' error notification will appear and the user will be lockout after failing more than 'set admin-lockout-threshold' followed by 'set admin-lockout-duration'. |
