Description

This article describes how to configure FortiMail to restrict user or group mailbox disk space.

Scope FortiMail.
Solution
  1. Navigate to Profile -> Resource -> Create New -> Disk quota (MB) and specify the disk quota for system or domain users.

  1. Navigate to Profile -> Group -> Email Group -> Enter Group Name -> Specify Group Member.

  1. Navigate to Policy -> Recipient Policy -> Inbound -> Create New -> Recipient Pattern -> Type 'Drop-down Menu' -> select Email Address Group -> Choose the created Email Address Group.

  1. Navigate to Policy Recipient Policy -> Inbound -> edit the created Recipient Policy for this Email Address Group -> Profiles -> Resource -> Choose the created 'New_Resource_Profile'.

Notes

  • Note that this option is only available in server mode.
  • Make sure to re-order the policy so the created user/group are hit by the right policy.
  • It is possible to specify the disk quota from the domain settings. Follow these steps:

Navigate to Domain -> choose a domain -> Edit -> Advanced Settings -> Other -> Service Setting -> User disk quota (MB) -> Specify a disk quota.

If domain level service settings are disabled, the 'resource-profile' disk quota will override the 'domain-level' setting disk quota.
