Description This article describes how to set the Rewrite sender or recipient email address in the Session profile in the IP policy with a local entry.
Scope FortiMail v7.6.x, v7.4.x, v7.2.x, v7.0.x.
Solution

Important note: this feature is available only if the Advanced Management license is active and 'MTA advanced control' is enabled

 

  1. Create or modify a Session profile:

Profile -> Session -> Session -> New or Edit.

  1. In the session profile, extend the 'Advanced control' and choose which header will be rewritten, and select + to create a new Address Rewrite Profile.

  1. In the Address Rewrite Profile, select New (or Edit).

  1. In the Address Rewrite Entry, fill in what Email address that will be rewritten and the Mapped address.
    In the example below, the local part (user) of the email address will remain the same, and the domain part of the email address (example.lab) will be rewritten to 'example-rewrite.lab'.
    Select three times Create (or OK) to save all profiles.

Note: The rewrite change is not logged in any FortiMail log. To check if the Rewrite works as requested, check the next hop log or the recipient of the email.
