| Description | This article describes changing the FortiMail cloud hostname. |
| Scope | FortiMail Cloud. |
| Solution |
There are some cases where users are changing the domain name to a new one. For example, the current domain name is 'abc.com' and it is necessary to be changed to a new domain name 'def.com'.
FortiMail Cloud hostname will use the domain name, such as 'abc-com.fortimailcloud.com', when provisioning the tenant. If the users later change the domain to a new domain 'def.com' and request to change the FortiMail Cloud hostname to 'def-com.fortimailcloud.com', this is not supported.
The only way to change the hostname is to delete the current tenant and have FortiMail Cloud Team process the deployment again. For the redeployment process, users will lose all the configuration and mail data in the existing tenant. Also, there will be a service impact since users have already changed the DNS point to the FortiMail Cloud tenant. |
